Tuesday Keynote - Making the 2020 Census Count: Accurate Numbers for Stronger Communities

The 2020 Census is vital to Pennsylvania and nationwide. The Census is the basis for distributing federal funds as well as political representation in local, state, and federal districts. In this workshop, you will learn how you can help your community get an accurate census count by working with the Census Bureau’s Community Partnership Engagement Program (CPEP). This workshop will give you an understanding of the following: 1. History of the Census 2. What’s new for the 2020 census 3. Confidentiality and privacy 4. Area census office and recruitment efforts 5. How to use the Census Bureau’s Response Outreach Area Mapper (ROAM) tool identify census tracks with low response rates 6. Outreach methods for all populations including those in living in census tracks that have high low response rates 7. Purpose and function of Complete Count Committees and how they are utilized to educate and motivate residents to respond to the 2020 Census
